Gone the moment you do it
Eight actions where the window never opens
Some things close as they happen. There is no interval between the act and the consequence, so there is nothing to interrupt. That does not make these the worst actions on the site. It makes them the ones where all the value sits before the click.

1.What puts an action in this group
An action belongs here when the event that would undo it is the same event that carried it out. Sending is the act and the handover. Publishing is the act and the disclosure. Confirming is the act and the settlement. Once you notice this shape you stop looking for a rescue button, because there is no moment at which one could work.
This is not about speed. A slow process can still belong here if there is no point inside it where a reversal would land. And a fast process can belong somewhere else entirely if a rule leaves a gap afterwards, which is what the minutes group is about.
2.The eight entries
3.The pattern behind all eight
Every page in this section ends up in the same place, from a different direction. The mistake is almost never the click. The mistake is the belief that made the click feel safe, usually a belief that somebody with a title could put it back if it went wrong.
There is nobody in that role. Not the market, not a vendor, not this site. The pages here spell out who could theoretically act at each stage and why none of them do, which is more useful than telling a reader to be careful.
4.What is still worth doing afterwards
Nothing here reverses, but three things still have value. Write down exactly what happened while you remember it, because your account of the sequence gets worse quickly. Change what the mistake had access to, which is usually a password or a key rather than the money. And stop the same shape of mistake from repeating, which means changing a habit rather than resolving to be more alert.
What is still possible once it has shut takes that further, and it applies to every section of the site rather than just this one.
