Every other reference sorts by danger. This one sorts by whether there is a way back. That single change alters what the advice can be, who it is useful to, and how quickly a reader can act on it.

1.What severity sorting actually produces
Sort by danger and you get a ranked list with the frightening things at the top. It reads well. It is almost useless in the moment, for a reason that becomes obvious once you try to use one.
A severity list answers the question "what should I be most worried about". Nobody asks that question while something is happening. They ask "is this fixable" and "how long have I got". A ranked danger list cannot answer either, so the reader has to do the translation themselves, at the worst possible time.
There is a second problem. Severity is a judgement, and it varies by person. The same action is trivial for one reader and serious for another. Reversibility does not vary that way. Either the option to undo exists or it does not, and that is a fact about the process rather than an opinion about the reader.
2.What reversibility sorting produces instead
Four groups, and each group implies a different kind of advice. That is the real gain. The structure of the answer is fixed by which group you are in before anybody writes a word.

Notice that the fourth row contradicts the instinct a severity list creates. On a danger list, permanent things go near the top. Here they go in the calmest section on the site, because permanence without any mechanism to act on it is not urgent. It is just permanent.
3.The test that decides the group
- Name the event that would undo the action. If you cannot name one, it belongs in the first group.
- Ask who performs that event. If it is you, the window is probably short. If it is a rule, the window is probably wide.
- Ask what stops that event from being available. That is the boundary, and it is what the entry is written around.
- If the answer to step one is "nothing, and nothing needs to be", the action is permanent and harmless, which is the fourth group.
4.Where the rule breaks down
It is not a perfect rule and pretending otherwise would be dishonest. Three places it fails.
First, some actions sit in two groups at once. A withdrawal to a wrong address is permanent as a transfer and short-windowed as a mistake you can catch before pressing send. The site splits those into two entries rather than fudging one, which is why a wrong address pasted but not sent and a withdrawal already broadcast are separate pages.
Second, reversibility says nothing about magnitude. It will happily file a large loss and a trivial one in the same group. Any reader using this site as their only guide will get the shape of a situation right and its importance wrong.
Third, a window can be open and worthless at the same time. The rule tells you the door is unlocked. It does not tell you the room is empty.
5.Why the fifth part of each entry matters most
Each entry ends with what people wrongly believe is reversible. That section is not decoration. Across everything collected here, the expensive outcomes almost never start with recklessness. They start with a confident, reasonable belief that a way back exists.
