1.Why the beliefs matter more than the mistakes

Nobody in this index set out to do something irreversible. They took an ordinary step that felt recoverable, because in most of life it would have been. Banks reverse things. Shops take returns. Support desks exist and have authority.

None of that is true here, and the gap between the expectation and the reality is where every expensive outcome lives. That gap is a belief, and beliefs can be corrected in advance, which is more than can be said for most of what this site describes.

It is not true here, on any side, in any situation. Not the market, not a vendor, not a moderator, not this site. Once that lands properly, most of the rest of the index becomes obvious and you can stop reading it.

The offer of a reversal is itself the warning sign

Because no such power exists, anybody who offers to use it has told you something about themselves. This is the most reliable single test in the whole index and it costs nothing to apply. An offer to undo is not a lifeline, it is a signal.
